Code geass 25 - but mainly WOAH!

ok, nice job sunrise you ended the show with a bang and more plot twisting (mind you, the plot probably snapped a while ago from being twisted so much) never the less...
good, good

Final Episode:
Re;

starting off, impressive episode. It really brought things to a close (and lets keep it this way, seriously, none of your bullshit about characters living)
I wasn't to fond of the name, considering it has little to do with the episode, nor with the characters, nor with the show... so Im not entirely sure what that's all about...
I would have done it while it was fresh in my mind last night, but I was tired and it took me a surprisingly long time (waited for 2 wrong torrents to download) ...that's always good on my bandwidth (not to mention kanon a while ago >_>)
so we begin right where the previous episode started, Nunally is showing off her eyes and Lelouch is shitting himself.
Being very climactic, it cuts around and shows what the other characters are doing, similar to an epilogue... I think death note could have taken a hint from this show's ending, seeing as its ending was sudden and felt forced (yeah thats right... DEATH NOTE taking a lesson on plot from CODE fsking GEASS).
The most important part, however, is the battle between suzaku and kallen. the showdown of fanboys vs fangirls. How will code geass end? will it be a fanboy ending (kallen x lelouch) or a fangirl ending? (suzaku x lelouch). Be you fanboy or fangirl however, it was a rather impressive fight scene in which you can see that they had budget left (I would have been SO pissed if they ran out of money and ended it with an evangelion style slide show)

nuu you cant ever kill me!

Also, as I just placed a screen shot of above, Jeremiah ... is he like ... unkillable for some reason? his knightmare exploded, but it was still there, then HE explodes it to damage anya, shield, then he goes eureka 7 style onto the mech and cuts it with his arm sword thing.
ANYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaactually I dont really care about Anya

So lelouch ended up geassing nunnaly and took the key from her. Wow... what a douche. And nunnaly says so as well. As lelouch walks away, nunnaly chases him and falls on the stairs, of course lelouch being the douche he is, DOESNT help his crippled sister getting up after she falls on some stairs out of her wheelchair (also, how did nunnaly get up those stairs in the first place... yeah, think about that for a bit)
aaaaaaaand the decicive battle is finally won by lelouch's side. the black knights fail and lelouch enslaves the world and everyone hates him.

I would have been pissed if they ended it like that. And considering my bad sense of time, I thought they had.

And then he got all of his slaves to
build the much sought after "giant chess piece"

It does another timeskip (so you KNOW something more will happen) and shows suzaku's grave. Notice that it said on his grave knight of THE zero as opposed to "knight of zero" ... I wonder if lelouch gave him the title THE just before he died. Or maybe it was just an error on behalf of the translators/animators. We also have Aurthur, the cat at suzaku's grave. So has he been there for 2 months? wow what a faithful cat.
It would appear as if all of the scientists have been imprisoned by lelouch (including the ones that gave him SUPER invaluable help for some reason) and we ALMOST find out about Lloyd's past by no one cares about that, so they decide to not go into much depth. Back to Lelouch's parade. As it turns out, Lelouch was "the good guy" all along, and just planned to kill most of his family and take over the world so suzaku would be able to kill him and "end this chain of hatred" ... personally that sounds almost like a cop-out ending to me, but who can blame them. Any idea that I had was a lot worse (even 4chan couldnt thing up anything)
So all acording to lelouch's plan, suzaku runs up dressed as a fake zero and after much build up, stabs lelouch.
...
GASP...
actually that one was seriously, I expected it to NOT end like that 0.o

actually, I have no witty comment for this
I was fucking SHOCKED
(edit - I now have a witty comment,
but due to being to socked I wont share it)

and lastly, lelouch dies happy, knowing that nunnaly loves him.
Afterwords, we get a true epilogue, complete with a soft, slow, j-pop ballad. It seems to have gone the way of evangelion and turned a mech into a school drama afterward when it follows kallen around.
We also see Anya and Jeremiah picking oranges .... heh heh... orange ... ^^

and lastly we have CC sitting in the back of an old timey horse hay carriage wearing peasants cloths (maybe she went through a time warp?) talking to dead lelouch...
or I hope he's dead
...
though that guy driving the cart looks awfully suspicious
...
NO!
DAMN YOU SUNRISE I THOUGHT I SAID NO MORE BULLSHIT!

oh well, at least that might mean an ova or something

My lucky star ova opinions

yup, you heard me right. I will now proceed to blog ... the MY lucky star film. A Korean made for TV drama turned 2003 movie :p

... ok kidding, Ive actually never watched it and never plan to (along with most people reading this probably)

So- the lucky star ova, as promised yesterday but I had to do stuff anyway.
First things first:

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
(take THAT page layout!)
(edit - take a look at the HTML if you want to know what I'm talking about)

this really made my weekend. it doesn't matter WHAT code geass does in its final episode, I'll be happy.
in terms of my thoughts before I watched it, I think that it felt sort of like one long episode of lucky star, but at the same time it felt like I was watching it as an ova. Instead of having many little skits like the show, it was free from that 4koma feel (mainly because it was an original script from what I know) each skit also felt a bit ... bigger ... and ... fuller ... and made me want to describe them in a more .... abstract... way (Im not very good at this >_<). So instead of going over the whole plot, I'll just give a super brief skim-over-summery, while highlighting some of the main parts that I enjoyed. at first we have a skit about Minami's dog, cherry. It seems like this skit was a large attempt to keep the series attached to the "slice of life" genre, which it did a decent job of. It had its emotional bits at the end with Minami getting sad over cherry - and dont get me wrong it was good, but Im just not a big fan of Minami... or anything Sakaki related (they're interchangeable! try it ^^)

best part of the skit... shame the rest of the
ova didnt have more Hiyori though

Next up, we have a skit about the mmorpg that konata and her teacher play. I enjoyed this MUCH more, considering A) moar konata is always good b) its an mmo ... heh...
We also get a surprise seeing as now tsukasa and kagami have decided to play it for some reason (for epic lulz... ours?) now I dont know if this mmo exists or not, but if so - I WANT IT!
they also slipped in some slight references to .hack (as one would expect in the mmo skit) as well as probably some other stuff which I may or may have not got. It was funny seeing tsukasa struggle because it reminded me of when I was a noob at mmos and had trouble with exact thing... infact this skit increased my likeing for tsukasa by about 200% ... mainly because of the character she played (kawaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii)
we have konata using a lot of mmo terms which I managed to keep up with, as would any self respecting gamer and at the end you just know that both tsukasa and kagami are NEVER going to play the game again.
One last question about this though: Konata's been playing for more then 3 years addict. Yet she only JUST reaches level 10 at this point, wheras her teacher reaches 15 in just ONE week... know what, never mind Il save that for the code geass finale, Im sure I'll need plenty of it.

Tsukasa's in my class castin' my spells

Next we get to kagami's ... really weird, possibly drug induced dream.
I though it was really funny due to its random-ness, and showed off something that the ova could do, but could not be done in 4 koma.
So what happens if you mix 4 parts kagami, 3 parts konata, 1 part magical girl and 1 part nagato-witch cosplay? ... this aparently. It really had everything ... and I mean EVERYTHING. At first I was curious as to why konata could do magic, but then I just ended up accepting it and realizing about half way through that it was a dream. Not much can be said for this, exept it seemed like the plot of a fanfic or game more then anything, but kagami's house on tractor treads with konata on to was just too awesome

but instead I'll show kagami cosplaying as
miku miku - cause thats equally awesome

Next, we have a crazy epic vollyball game, seiously if gym class was this exiting, I wouldnt have dropped it first chance I got. Sadly, as Im not really into sports anime, Im sure there was many references wasted on me.
It actually had a fair amount of character development for tsukasa, I thought, which was odd but welcome considering tsukasa never really... got her personality fleshed out that well.
I also found it odd that kagami was her class' biggest asset on the team. Since when did she even PLAY sports? oh well, from a skit that I expected to be konata vs kagami, it ended up being so much more.
Also, the jokes about misao being a side character were very warmly welcomed. I never cared for her (actually, I just had to wiki "lucky star characters" just to remember what her name was)
it seemed kind of overbord when tsukasa broke out in tears, but I geuss thats what they were going for. Now what kind of an otaku would I be if I questioned the writers of lucky star? ^o^

I know Im supposed to be gasping at this point
but sadly the only thing going through my mind was
"PWNED!"

The next car in this train of a badly writen, badly punctuated blog is about the hiking trip skit.
Now this had more stuff that I found to be generally out of bounds for a normal lucky star episode, seeing as it in itself had a mini plot, compleate with konata being outside for a reason other then school or buying anime goods (GASP!)
So here we have the 4 girls lost in the wilderness (yeah thats a weird one) I dono what the scenario writer was thinking, but it works. Its interesting to see what they all do in that case, Miyuki obviously taking charge of things, Tsukasa proving to know stuff about stars because she was born on tabanata (umm Tsukasa and Kagami are twins, right? so they were born on the same day, right? so how come Kagami doesnt know stuff about stars?) Kagami freaking out, and Konata making numerous anime references.
Upon returning, they're treated to a lecture by a surprisingly careing Nanako. As well as finding out that it was Miyuki retelling the whole thing to her mother.

I see right through that nostalgic expression
WHO KNOWS WHAT YOU ADDED!

almost done here ... actually, know what? Im not gonna write about the next skit... TOO WEIRD
Im probably missing something, but it seemed like the writers were just watching some J-horror while reading Sgt. frog and doing lots of really strong crack.

no pic for joo!

and if its not evident that Im getting lazy, the last skit is pretty short, which is good, cause Im getting lazy (see above) but I did laugh at this last one, cause you knew it was going to happen.

though, instead of waiting, could he not have
just also been afk after opening his shop?

and finally the lucky channel

WHAT?
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE!

Kanon ~ session one

Kanon - prolouge and day one

Alright, it looks like this will be a VERY busy weekend seeing as Ive got not only the final episdoe of code geass, but maybe more importantly: the lucky star OVA (excuse me while I go into a quiet room for a bit)

Ok, Im better now.
however Im rather pissed at the lack of subs as of now, but they will come... they will come...

So moving onto the main thing: Kanon.
first let me tell you, it was really annoying to get to play it. I had a LOT of problems... even more then Clannad. Firstly, I had to actually download the game and seeing as its an old-ish game, my torrent had very little seeds (took about a week, maybe less) after I had successfully downloaded it, I tried to put in the patch, only to find out "uh oh! the patch only works with standard edition!" silly me, I had downloaded one of the OTHER 4 PC versions (four is to many. end of story)
So I hunted through the cold, dark lands of the interweb and eventually found the standard edition (took about a week to download as well) I had to really mess around with the patch in order to get it to work... and because it was a leak of the unfinished-probably-never-will-finish kanon english patch, it still is rather buggy and has a few things that are left untransilated... but its playable and thats what counts.

If your wondering, __ is in fact NOT my name...
that would be a bug

I played through the first day, and I think that I will end up really enjoying this game; though I dont think as much as Clannad (this gets a +5 in setting though... but clannad wins in music. On art they're even)
Im a bit curious as this is my first H-game and am not entirley sure as of what to expect but I've heard it has little to no impact on the story, which is nice.
though the chracters seem more... fun...

gez what a hero, on the first day.
I like this main character ^^

starting off on my first impressions, I really like the setting. Its more of a personal thing. I like winter as a season, and it defenitly works in a romantic setting (though -30*c is NOT ideal in real life for romance) the music is nice, but not as catchy as many of the tunes in Clannad and I actually liked the right click menu, it seemed very usefull. As always for Key, the art is great. No complaints there. And the girls are ... umm

Weird.

speaking of Ayu, who despite having freaking wings (fashion trend my ass) is pretty cute, despite filling a lot of common moe stereotypes. Fittingly so for the excellent writing that I found in this game, it has a decent amount of humor that is actually funny. I especially liked the main characters critiqueing of Ayu's wings... it took an weird anime fasion thing and poked fun at it (cause you cant go wrong with a self reference)

so interesting first day, nice to see that again, the protagonist is a bit of an asshole to a few people (reminds me of Clannad) now onto the dream part.
The dream world was a decent method of putting in backstory seeing as this way you can keep the game flowing and not have to put in so much backstory, but it seems less like a dream and more like.... umm... the protagonist got a time machine and went back to do some stuff exactually as he did it before... it just doesnt have that dream feel to it. Though call me whatever you want
young Nayuki is hawt

Like I said, hot (HAH HAH HAHHH)
I love cheesy puns... so very very much

so aside from asking why Nayuki has so many alarm clocks (wakes up bad probably) I dont really have anything else to say.

so yeah... expect more from me. I think I'll make friday my Kanon day. I'll hopefully be able to blog about the Lucky Star OVA tomorrow... yes.... hopefully and of course the final episode of code geass on sunday

code geass r2 ep 24, or, TAKE THAT SHNEIZEL

So, as I mentioned before, Il do a blog on code geass episode 24... along with another 600 other people...

As I also mentioned before, that's not important. Anyway the episode

Turn 24: Damocles' Skies

this was actually one of the better episodes Ive seen in a while, which is a good thing. It should be seeing as it was the second last. It still seems to be keeping with this whole "one plot twist an episode" kinda feel, which is both good and bad, because it both keeps the viewer guessing (well... Ive actually given up on that at this point) but on the flipside it doesnt really provide a stable plot... I feel sorry for someone having to do a plot summery on wikipedia
"and then kallen falls in love with lelouch, and then kallen betreys lelouch, and then kallen falls in love with lelouch again, and then kallen distrusts lelouch, and then kallen falls in love with lelouch, and then kallen trys to kill lelouch" (gez talk about a love hate relationship ... BA DUM CHISH)
So we begin with Nunnaly having some regrets with launching FLEIA, one would think that this would come in later on in the episode, but I geuss that comes later or somthing... or they will just forget about it.
There's some cool battle scenes and somthing about Xin-ku being pissed at Shneizel, more cool battleing, and then suzaku seems to defeat Todou in about 4 or 5 seconds after chatting a bit with him. Isnt it weird that When Suzaku really needs to, he can just kinda take out ANYTHING with seemingly no effort? After defeating Todou, he also glides through Tamaki, though I doubt either of them are actually dead.

"No fair! I wasnt finished talking!"

After telling everyone "thanks but no thanks, screw off I dont need you" Lelouch goes and talks to Nina, who has obviously came up with the exact strategy they need. The strategy in itself is quite ridiculas, but we'll get to that later.
So one of the reasosn you KNOW that its the end (besides the episode number) was the fact that Lelouch refers to CC as the witch, indicating that all the "culzness" that he lost in season one has now officially returned, which results in CC finally showing a bit more character development in terms of her relationship with Lelouch

better late then never

we WOULD have had a nice romantic scene going here, but Kallen, was pissed that CC was stealin her man decided to come in and lay down some ass whooping on them.
So now comes to Cecil and Nina's badass plan, which must be prepared 19 seconds beforehand and has a window of 0.04 seconds to compleate ... what arbitrary numbers eh? never minding the dificulty.
being the smart, smart dude that lelouch is, he stakes all his hope on that insanely-hard-to-do plan, as opposed to this smart plan that I just thought up in about 5 seconds: shoot FLEIA just as its coming out and not need to go inside of it or anything.
So Damocles gets rocked... literally (cheesy puns FTW) and nunnaly falls on the ground grasping around for that specter thing.

My key, my key, I cant launch FLEIAs without my key

So here we go, Lelouch's most far fetched idea yet, he uses a pre-recorded video (obviously knowing exactly what Shneizel is going to say) which responds appropriately to every thing Shneizel says as well as giving him just the right amount of time to talk to him.
Did anyone else find that a BIT over the top? I mean, what do you think would have happen if Sheneizel were to NOT say what Lelouch expected him to? never mind that, what if he WORDED it just a bit different, wouldnt Lelouches plan go to compleate shit?
so the hostages are safe to eh? thats nice, as well as--

WHAT?

ummm... who?

... where?

Is it just me or does Corneillia die more times then Ichicgo or somthing?
she could probably take a beating equal to the ones Keitaro gets and still live!
and what annoy's me is that she isnt even that great of a character either, she has no real significance any more as it seems so just let her DIE!

so Lelouch's plan obviously works, and he catches Shneizel off gaurd and then proceeds to geass him (uh oh! watch out, I smell some problem coming related to that!). After that, Diethard freaks out at and pulls out his gun (dono where he got THAT from) aiming it at Lelouch, only to be shot by Shneizel. I never really liked Diethard that much... he did too much Septaple crossing...
personally I never saw why he had to freak out like that anyway, shouldnt he be happy cause he wanted to get Lelouch's story? anyway point being, no being in the epilouge for him

"seriously man! don't FUCK with me! Im crazy!
Il poppa cap in ALL yo asses!"

Gino finally screws off, after getting too much screen time in a battle with Suzaku and were left with an immense cliff hanger for the final episode ... with the epic episode name of ...

RE ;

OMG!!!!!!!!!
(the semicolen is what makes it epic)

episode 25 preview

Lots of flashbacks,
damn, if they have to tie up all the loose ends AND put in those flashbacks, its gonna be like 8 hours long

so what are my thoughts on this episode? I liked it, it had a decent battle, without resulting to the same things that the other battle episodes did:
Lelouch: behold my army!
Shneizel: behold my better army!
Lelouch: behold my strategy!
Shneizel: behold my better army!
Lelouch: shit... Suzaku?
Shneizel: behold my Kallen!
Kallen: hey remember when I was batshit insane, but they decided to drop that for no reason?
Suzaku: lolwut?
anyway, you get the picture

~~

hello world!

Hey all, this is my first entry on what I HOPE to be a weekly thing
at first I'd like to catch the end of code geass r2, its a shame I didnt think of this earlier, but what are you going to do
I know it seems that its just another blogger talking about anime, but Im different? why? because Im gods gift to anime reviewers and my oppinion is the LAW!
...
ok, not really
but I generally DO have oppinions that are a refreshing change from the rest of the comunity (nina, you can table hump in my heart <3)

soooo onto buisness then

just finished up furukawa's path in clannad, it was really sad...
over all, I think that it was a great game, but I had a FEW minor gripes with it:
for one, please tell me, WHY was the opening like half way through the game? seriously, you play it for long time, then it shows the opening, and your like "woah... this game is gonna be hella long" but then it turns out that a few days of more play and its over!
its an opening!
it goes at the begining! ... it felt almost like an insert cutscene to me
another minor thing would be the lack of interaction with the player, now I didnt actually mind this, because you could tell this way more effort was put into a single narrative, therefore making a smaller amount of content (still LOTS of content though)
thats about it really, other then that it was defenitly a solid game that took controll of my emotions sometimes.

expect another entry, with a bit more of a focus later tonight after I watch code geass r2 episode 24
